Utility Services We Install

Water Lines
New water service connections, water main extensions, and distribution systems for residential developments and commercial projects. We install all common pipe materials (ductile iron, PVC, HDPE) and handle connections to existing municipal systems.

Sewer Systems
Gravity sewer lines, force mains, and collection systems. Proper slope is critical for gravity systems — our GPS-guided equipment ensures the precise grade needed for reliable flow.

Storm Drainage
Complete storm water management systems including catch basins, storm drain pipe, detention/retention basins, and outfall structures. We work with your civil engineer to install systems that meet local storm water requirements.

Irrigation Systems
Main line and lateral installation for agricultural irrigation, residential community irrigation, and commercial landscape irrigation systems. We install pressurized and gravity-fed systems.

Power Conduit
Underground electrical conduit installation for residential and commercial power service, including coordination with Rocky Mountain Power and local utilities on specifications and inspections.

Communication & Fiber
Conduit and vault installation for fiber optic, cable, and telecommunications infrastructure.

Our Installation Process

1. Pre-Construction: Review plans, coordinate with engineers and utility companies, obtain necessary permits.
2. Utility Locates: All existing utilities are located and marked through Blue Stakes of Utah.
3. Trenching: Trenches are excavated to the depth, width, and grade specified in the plans.
4. Bedding: Granular bedding is placed and graded to provide uniform pipe support.
5. Installation: Pipe is laid, connected, and aligned to specifications.
6. Testing: Pressure testing, mandrel testing, or video inspection as required by the specifying agency.
7. Inspection: The installation is inspected by the municipality or utility company.
8. Backfill: The trench is backfilled in lifts with proper compaction.
9. Surface Restoration: Roads, sidewalks, landscaping, and other disturbed surfaces are restored.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you handle the permitting for utility work?
A: We assist with permitting and coordinate with municipal utility departments. Depending on the project, the property owner, builder, or civil engineer may be the permit applicant, but we support the process throughout.

Q: How deep are utilities buried in Utah?
A: Depths vary by utility type and local code. Generally: water lines 48-60", sewer lines vary by grade (typically 4-8' deep), storm drain varies by design, electrical conduit 24-36". Exact depths are determined by your local municipality.

Q: Can you install utilities in winter?
A: Yes. Frozen ground requires additional effort but we work year-round. In some cases, ground thawing equipment is used for winter utility installations.

Q: What pipe materials do you work with?
A: We install all common utility pipe materials including PVC, HDPE, ductile iron, corrugated HDPE (for storm drain), and reinforced concrete pipe (RCP).
